One lucky art lover will soon own a beautiful and unique chainsaw carving of a Lion’s head – while at the same time supporting the Mayor’s Christmas Tree program in Lansing.

Bidding will start at $50. The Lion’s head piece was carved by the Kansas Chainsaw Carver - Russ Ehart, Jr. during Lansing’s Autumn in the Grove Fall Festival. Bidders can drop off their sealed envelope bids at either the Lansing Economic Development Dept., 730 1st Terr. Suite 2 OR at the City Clerk’s office, 800 1st Terr. by no later than 5 p.m. on Tues.,Oct. 28. The high bidder will win the carving and can pick up the Lion’s head at 730 1st Terr., Suite 2 on Wed. October 29.The Mayor’s Christmas Tree program helps Lansing children in need by providing clothing, toys and non-perishable food to families during the holiday season.
