Beginning this month, the city of Lansing has a new tool available to keep citizens apprised of changes to the trash collection schedule.

Residents can call 913-364-6869 for a pre-recorded message indicating any changes to Waste Management/Deffenbaugh’s weekly trash collection runs. Using this “hotline” will be particularly effective during holidays – as Lansing’s trash contractor observes most holidays – but not all. It will also be very useful during winter months, when frigid temperatures sometimes delay/force last minute cancellation of trash collection.

Trash, recycling and yard waste (seasonal) is normally collected on Thursdays in Lansing. During observed holidays, when that holiday falls on a Monday – Thursday, trash collection is delayed to Fridays.
