After the late November snow storm, City officials want to remind Lansing residents about rules related to sidewalk snow and ice removal. In general, residents have 24 hours after the end of the snow/ice event to clear the sidewalk immediately adjacent to the property. If the sidewalk has not been cleared within 48 hours after the storm (and after City staff verification), residents will be made aware of the violation.
Specific requirements for sidewalk snow/ice removal can be found on the City website, www.lansing.ks.us, in the Document Center’s Snow Emergency Information folder (City Code section 14-112.) Here is a direct link: http://bit.ly/14-112
