Fred Grenier joined the Lansing Police Department as a Reserve Police Officer in 1989. After serving with the Leavenworth Sheriff’s Office for ten years, he came home to the Lansing Police Department in February 2005 as a Patrol Officer. Grenier was promoted to Sergeant in December 2005 and to Lieutenant in April 2008. His duties include Lansing Emergency Operation Planning, Fleet Management, Evidence/Property Control, and Supervision of the Detective, COP, and Animal Control Divisions. Grenier serves on the City’s Personnel Committee. He has also held the positions of:

Grenier is originally from rural Leavenworth County, graduating from Pleasant Ridge High School in 1987. He moved to the Lansing area in 1989. He attended Kansas City Kansas Community College and has an Associate’s degree in Law Enforcement.
He is currently attending Washburn University working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He is a graduate of the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Academy (1994), and a Certified Drug Recognition Expert / Instructor (1999/2005).
