Wireless Hot Spot Acceptable Use
Policy
By accessing the Lansing Community Library Hot Spot, I hereby agree to abide by the following policies, regulations, procedures, and conditions:

• I will not violate any federal, state, or Lansing Community Library policies and procedures.
• I will not use the Lansing Community Library Hot Spot in any manner that disrupts the use of the network by others.
• I will not connect a personal computer into the Library network via an Ethernet / CAT5 cable.
• I understand that Library staff cannot provide technical support to configure any personal computer or device to access the Lansing Community Library Hot Spot. I further understand Library staff will not provide troubleshooting assistance for my personal computer or device. I also understand that the Library cannot guarantee that a wireless connection can be made, or maintained, to my personal computer or device.
• I understand the Lansing Community Library Hot Spot is not a secure site and no encryption technology is utilized to protect electronic information, or data, that utilizes this site for accessing the internet. By accessing the Lansing Community Library Hot Spot, I acknowledge that information transmitted from, or received to, my personal computer or device is not secure and is susceptible to capture or viewing by anyone utilizing an appropriate computer with wireless capabilities or another device with software created for such purposes.
• I understand that the Lansing Community Library is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage of any type to data, personal equipment or software resulting from a connection to the Lansing Community Library Hot Spot.
• I understand that Library printers are not part of the Lansing Community Library Hot Spot and, in the event a printer is required, I must save my file and transfer it to a personal email account or a portable storage device, and, then, check out a Public Access Computer to download and print the work.

Prohibiting Service
The Lansing Community Library reserves the right to prohibit any individual from accessing the Lansing Community Library Hot Spot if it is determined an individual is violating any policies of the Lansing Community Library.

This policy is subject to change without notice at the Library's sole discretion.
