We appreciate your consideration of the Lansing Community Library for your donation. Due to space limitations and other factors, we can only accept donations of certain items based on the following guidelines:
*All donations must be clean and in good condition;
*Generally, donations must be fairly new editions or must be well-known titles/authors;
*Items of local interest will be considered based on individual merit;
*Donations of encyclopedias cannot be accepted unless they are more current than our latest edition (2005);
*Donations of textbooks cannot be accepted.
Gifts or donations of books or other materials are accepted with the understanding they may be used or dispensed of as the Library determines is appropriate. These items may be sold in the on-going book sale, given away, recycled or otherwise dispensed at the Library's discretion. Gifts made to the library become the sole property of the Library and remain so until they are either added to the collection or until a decision is made by the Lansing Community Library as to the appropriate disposition of such items.
Under existing law, gifts to libraries may be tax deductible; the deductability is governed by the provisions of the Internal Revenue Code.
