Overdue Charges
Fee Schedule
The Lansing Library charges overdue fees according to the following schedule:
  • Items with a three day loan period do not have a grace period. These items will be assessed an overdue fee of $1 per item per day, up to a maximum of $10 per item.
  • On all regular check-out items, there will be a seven day grace period from the date the item is due. After the grace period, the charge will be 10 cents per item per day, up to a maximum of $3 per item.
  • Library materials may be renewed at any time during the check-out or grace period, but are not eligible for renewal once they are in fine status.
  • All overdue materials must be returned and all fines must be paid before new materials can be checked out.
  • When a patron has items that are in replacement status, the patron will be billed for the replacement cost of that item and all cards for the family will be blocked until the replacement cost and all accrued fines are paid. Once an item is replaced, the old item is no longer eligible to be returned.
