The Public Information Officer (PIO) is responsible for LGTV-Channel 2, Lansing's Government Television Cable Channel. Overseeing the city's website, writing city news releases and responding to residents' questions and concerns are also the PIO's responsibilities. He  serves as the Information Technology Liaison for the city and on various local and regional transportation and government-related committees.

The PIO assists the City Administrator, Director of Economic Development and Director of Public Works as needed.
