The city of Lansing is looking for interested applicants for its 8th Annual Citizens’ Academy beginning in September.
The Citizens’ Academy is a relaxed, interactive way to learn about the workings of Lansing city government and gives participants insight into how various Departments operate. Classes will be held monthly from Sept. 2017 through April 2018, usually on the second Wed. of the month from 6-8 p.m. The first class will be Wed., Sept. 13.
There is no cost to participate in the Citizens’ Academy, but it does require a time commitment. The program is open to Lansing residents 18 years of age and older as well as Lansing business owners. Applications are available at City Hall, 800 1st Terr. Residents can also apply on the City’s website, www.lansing.ks.us. Class size is limited to 15 participants. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Sept. 8, 2017. Applicants will be notified about participation by Sept. 11, 2017.
