LANSING CITY FIREWORKS SHOW SET FOR JUNE 30

The city of Lansing will present its Independence Fireworks Celebration on Fri., June 30, 2017.  From 6 - 11 p.m. there will be a DJ, children’s inflatable rides, vendors selling barbecue, drinks, snow cones, hot dogs and more.  The fireworks show will begin after dusk - approximately 10 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: This year, parking will cost $1 per vehicle after 7 p.m. Attendees are urged to get to Kenneth W. Bernard Community Park early.  The parking area will open at 5:30 p.m. Limited ADA parking will be available.  Those attending can also take advantage of a free shuttle service originating from Lansing High School. The first shuttle will leave the LHS parking lot at about 5:30 p.m. The last shuttle prior to the fireworks show will leave the LHS parking lot at 9:15 p.m.

Lansing Mayor Mike Smith will open the show. City staff strongly urges attendees to arrive early. Park gates will close at 9:30 p.m. Please be patient after the show as it will take time for vehicles to exit the park.

Please note: fireworks shall not be discharged within the event venue or within 500 feet of the perimeter of the display setup area. Lansing authorities also remind attendees that charcoal, propane or any type of BBQ grill as well as alcohol is not permitted in KWB Community Park.

In the event of inclement weather, the fireworks show will take place on Sat., July 1.

Directions: Turn west on 4-H Road from Main Street/US-73/K-7 Highway.  Drive approximately 2.5 miles to the Kenneth W. Bernard Community Park entrance.
